    Growing shadow from straw-water-air interface phenomenon; ปรากฏการณ์ เงาหลอดโตขึ้นเนื่องจากรอยต่อระหว่างหลอดน้ำและอากาศ

    อุปกรณ์คือ หลอด หลอดไฟให้แสงสีส้ม แก้วโฟมสีขาว แล้วก็ น้ำ

    ใส่น้ำในแก้วโฟม แล้วเปิดไฟ
    จะมองเห็นก้นแก้ว เป็นสีขาว (ธรรมดา ยังไม่มีอะไรเกิดขึ้น)
    พอเอาหลอดจุ่มลงไป โอ้............. เงาสีดำ ก็เกิดขึ้นมาซ้อนกับเงาหลอดที่เกิดขึ้นไปแล้ว
    (กราบหนึ่งครั้งสวยๆ เพราะมันสวยงามจริงๆ)

    In summary, when a straw is above a water level, we just see the straw shadow but when we dip the straw into water, we will see the circle shadow on top of the previous straw shadow...........   OMG!! This circle shadow is caused by the refraction of light through the curve surface for sure, but I (may) have to think more to understand the phenomenon clearly.



    The question here is that can we calculate
    a straw-water contact angle if we just know a water surface tension and the size of shadow (also can measure geometries of cup, water level, etc.)

    PS may be.... somebody else has thought about this already, but I've just seen this shadow today ever since I was born.
